CLAIRE HENNESSY

"I'm writing a book. I've got the page numbers done." -- Anonymous

"What do you plan to do with all your stories?" -- Tori Amos, 'Scarlet's Walk'

Claire Hennessy is a writer, creative writing teacher, and bookworm.

She is the author of nine novels for young adults, and spends most of her time telling her friends that no, they're not actually the characters in any of them.

Claire teaches creative writing classes and workshops in Dublin to all ages as well as doing school and library visits around the country.

She is responsible for the Writing part of the Song and Writing workshops (thankfully, as she can't sing). Through discussions and writing exercises she looks at a wide variety of topics, from creating characters and developing dialogue to twisting fairytales and creating new kinds of mythical creatures. And haikus, mostly because they're short.
